 - Genesis 3 WHAT CAUSED MAN'S FALL - The Word of God was Distorted - The Word of God was Denied - The Word of God was defiled - The will of God was decreed * How was the Word of God distorted? - The devil added a provision that God didn't add (Gen. 3:3) - He subtracted from the penalty * They denied the Word of God (Gen. 3:5-6) - There was a ploy to offer an alternative to God's will - He suggested to them that God is less than His Words. * How was the Word of God defiled? - The devil appealed to their sense organs (pleasing to the eye) - He appealed to their sensory level (good to eat) - Adam did not warn his wife. *Why they hid themselves - Shame - Fear - Guilt (These are the results of sin) LESSONS FROM THE FALL - The standard is God's Word - Sin is our problem - Suffering is because of sin - Our solution is Christ
