The Bible Study outline for today, as prepared and taken by the Church Pastor, Rev. Kayode Oke.

TOPIC:  CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN MARRIAGE
TEXT:  Matthew 18:15-19  

CHALLENGE: Work extra hard to resolve all conflicts in your home.
INTRODUCTION
Every family at one time or the other goes through one type of problem or the other. While the causes of some of these problems are from without, many others are self inflicted. Today, we shall focus on the major causes of these ‘internally generated’ problems, and move from there to proffer solutions.

LESSON`
1.    THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEMS
(a)            Self-Centeredness. When one believes he/she is always right and the other is always wrong. Arrogance.
(b)            Unrealistic Expectations- You think your spouse is super human. You think your spouse MUST understand you… Must know what you are thinking.
(c)    Trying to ‘fix’ your partner. Remember, it is God that makes the spouse suitable.
(d)             Unforgiveness – Always difficult to let off the hurt from a friend
2.    THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEMS
(a)            Say it out. Don’t shut him/her out, but say it out. (Vs 15)
(b)            Hear it out. Don’t just be good at stating  your case, be a good listener also (Vs 16)
(c)    Work it out. With sincere discussions
(d)            Seek Help (Vs. 16) In cases that one on one efforts fail, look for a matured Christian that both of you respect(Not family members) and share.

CONCLUSION
Vs 19 says 19 "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. This shows the awesome power in agreement. Let us quickly work out our disagreements so we can begin to partake in this blessing promised by the Father.

1.    PRAY AGAINST EVERYTHING THAT IS WORKING AGAINST PEACE IN YOUR HOME
2.    ASK THAT OD WILL REVEAL TO YOU WHERE YOU MUST MAKE ADJUSTMENT FOR YOU TO BE AN INSTRUMENT OF PEACE IN YOUR HOME.
3.    PRAY AND UPROOT ALL AGENTS OF CONFUSION IN NIGERIA
4.     PRAY THAT 2019 ELECTION WILL BRING ABOUT THE WILL OF GOD OVER THIS NATION NIGERIA
5.    ASK THAT GOD WILL SHAKE ALL THAT NEEDS TO BE SHAKEN IN THIS COUNTRYFOR HIS WILL TO COME TO PASS.

6.    PRAY FOR LEAH SHARIBU

We received the Theme Word for the Year.
