We thank the Almighty God for the grace to witness our 2018 family Revival.

Today’s morning service marked the start of our 2018 Family Revival, led by Rev. Dr. Jerry Akinsola
The theme of the Revival is ESSENTIALS FOR MANIFESTING GOD’S GLORY IN YOUR HOME.      
And the teaching for this morning’s session was based on COMMITMENT


-         -  There are Sick and Healthy Marriages
- The type of marriage you have is determined by your response to challenges. Healthy marriages will always demonstrate commitment in the face of challenges.
-          It is a fact that every marriage will be tested!

THINGS THROUGH WHICH MARRIAGES CAN BE TESTED
1.      MONEY
Lack of it can lead to frustration in marriages and an abundance of it can lead to pride in marriages
2.      OPPORTUNITIES
Opportunities like new titles, higher wages and so on.
3.      CIRCUMSTANCES
Like sickness, scarcity, barrenness etc.
4.      PEOPLE
People like our friends, In-laws can sometimes be a test in marriages.
5.      SATAN
Our adversary will always seek to destroy every God-ordained marriage through lies, bringing other options besides God’s, false teachings in homes and so on.

WHAT THEN DO YOU DO WHEN TESTED?
-          STAY COMMITTED
Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Luke 9:62
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.  

*Commitment is saying no to certain things, people and opportunities.
* Commitment is giving your best, going the extra mile and holding on firmly.

We should note that there can be wrong types of commitment.
*What You are committed to will determine the quality of your marriage.

WHAT SHOULD I BE COMMITTED TO?
1.      GOD
He must be at the center of it all
2.      YOUR RELATIONSHIPS (Ruth 1:16)
With your spouse and other dependents.
3.      PLANS
4.      PURPOSE

*Commitment is not a thing just to be spoken about instead it is to be demonstrated.

    HOW DO I DEMONSTRATE COMMITMEN1T
FORSAKE
Do away with idols, people who are distractions, ungodly lifestyles, some opportunities.
2.      FAITHFULNESS
Do not betray each other
3.      FIGHT
Say to yourself, “I’m not giving up”. Intercede, protect and fight for your marriage.
4.      FEED
Invest in your family
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  

5.      FORGIVE
Do not keep records of the wrongs of your partner also do not let one falling stop the effort of trying again.

The next few days, we have an opportunity to get a better undertanding of the pattern of God for our homes. Determine to make the most of this grace.

Prayer Focus for the Week
Pray against the forces of darkness working against the peace of God in our homes.
