ESSENTIALS FOR MANIFESTING GOD’S GLORY IN YOUR HOMES: CHOOSE PEACE

Psalm 34:14,

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Romans 12:16

Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.  

If we want our lives to manifest God's glory, we need to work on

1. Self

2. Others

3. Context

1 SELF

- Who you are and what you do will determine what week happen to your family

You can stop your home from manifesting God's glory through;

1. NEGATIVE ATTITUDE

Hostility, Bitterness, Pessimism

2. POOR APPEARANCE

Self-neglect, Poor dress sense, Poor hygiene

3. UNGODLY RELATIONSHIPS

Bad friends, serving other gods

4. INAPPROPRIATE SPEECH

Shout-down, abuse, intimidation

2. OTHERS (Romans 12:15-18)

To be at peace with all men, we must;

1. SUBMIT

Redirect and honour your spouse

Appreciate and tolerate our differences

2. SHARE (Isaiah 1:18)

We should share; Information, concerns, programmes, project, money, time, materials, ideas.

3. SERVE (Galatians 5:13)

Seek to meet needs and go the extra mile to meet emotional and physical needs.

3 CONTEXT

To create the right context for a Christ-exalting family;

1. MEET

Create and maintain multiple meeting points, e.g. Prayer, playgrounds, work, kitchen, study etc.

2. ACCOMMODATE OTHERS

Accept, appreciate, affirm and assist.

3. LOOK AHEAD

Set goals, datelines, challenge one another.

4. TALK TO GOD

Thanksgiving and prayer.

CONCLUSION

For you family to manifest God's glory you must be a peace loving person, then be at peace with others and create a peaceful environment.
